Guru’s AP Stats: Current Team Appearance Streaks and Coaches’ Appearances All-Time and Active

By Mel Greenberg

Hello all. Well getting into the AP database, but on the iPad, everything could be updated but the sorts on the category section for the moment will have to wait until your Guru pulls a copy on the PC.

Nevertheless for those needing to do game notes or the rest of you to be fascinated, here are the current team streaks through the preseason poll rfeleased Thursday and the all-time and active coaching appearance rankings after adjusting those who for various reasons left the active list.

Some coaches are approaching moves up the list as you will see. Just the top all-time are listed, though any coach who ever had a team ranked is in the database, and likewise cut the active list at about the 50th ranked active fell, which at that position is not a gaudy placement.

Carolyn Kieger earns her first appearance with Marquette earning its first preseason appearance, though before her time the Big East team had made previous appearances. By doing so, she becomes the 36th overall coach to play for and coach on an AP ranked team and having done so at Marquette she is one of 11 coaches in the group to so do at their alma maters.
