Guru's WNBA Report: East Fit To Be Tied?
By Mel Greenberg
Going into to Tuesday night's Connecticut at Atlanta game, though the situation most likely won't play out, but if Indiana loses its last three games and Connecticut loses its last two, meaning New York and Atlanta would win their last two, then the four Eastern playoff teams will all be tied at 20-14 and games against each other would be used as the first tie-break.
This would get done in one shot since ties don't keep getting broken as they do in a similar deadlock in some collegiate conferences. Furthermore, the East records within the group project a clear order.
1. Atlanta 8-5
2. New York 7-6
3. Connecticut 6-7
4. Indiana 5-8
In the West a San Antonio win at Los Angeles in Tuesday's other game puts the Silver Stars in the playoffs or a loss leaves them with a one game lead over the Sparks.
Other scenarios will be discussed when the results are in. Other than Minnesota with the No. 1 overall, seeds in West are still open ended.
