But wait, there's more...

It has also come across the AP wire that Houston Comets coach Van Chancellor will announce that he is resigning at a news conference tonight at 7:45 p.m. Eastern Time. Mel just came in the newsroom for a few minutes to say goodbye to colleagues and when I told him the Chancellor news, he said, "That's big." So Mel will probably have more to say on this subject tonight in addition to the Charlotte news.

Mel is currently about to head to Saint Joseph's for the women's version of the famed "Holy War" rivalry game between the Hawks and Villanova. More to come on that in tomorrow's Inquirer and on Philly.com.
